It's Friday, but will I thank God?

Greetings one and all. I hope this finds you full, well-rested, healthy and well cooled. Just chilling in my apartment. I took today off b/c tomorrow will find me at U of H football media day and then some velodrome finals. It's getting down to the nitty gritty now. The paper launches on Tuesday. They rolled the first successful color copy off the press yesterday. That was exciting. I should have three stories in the first issue. The people at work are still cool, at least ont he sports side. The one guy that reminds me of Trotter can kind of be an ass sometimes, but I think once he stops seeing me as a threat and competition to be the center of attention, things should be alright. One-on-one he is nice enough. But in other news...

One of the girls we stole from the news side to be our friend, Anita, went to school at a small college in Houston. So she took us out last night to one of her favorite bars. That was fun. I managed to spill a Yagerbomb down the front of myself and kick everyone's ass in darts. Who know? I still suck at hitting the bull's eye. I was greeted this morning with a monster hangover - almost as bad as the day after colin and joel and i did whiskey shots. My body does not like hard liquor. I went to Wal-Mart today to pick up some stuff for the old apt. It was awful. Between the headache, the spaceiness and the people everywhere.

The best part about having TV again is the Daily Show. So funny. Tonight Steven Colbert was doing a piece on the Duke of Hazard movie. He was interviewing someone from the NAACP and talking about how much fun the confederate flag is. The man responded by saying 'It also used to be fun to lynch black people in this country.' To which Colbert responds, 'See, that's where you and I differ.' To a leader of the NAACP! The man was dumb founded. I laughed like a little girl. They also have a new segment 'The Less You Know.' They have the little NBC star come sail across the screen and then the streaks black out the parts of an unidentified document. Hilarious.

Arrested Development is an underrated show. So funny.

The high here was 85. Quite nice. Winter should be great.

I got my diploma in the mail today. Finally some proof of where all that money went. My sister also sent me a picture of us. My fireplace mantel is becoming crowded. That's a nice thing to come home to. Sadly GQ is done. Cover-to-cover. I guess we will have to wait for next month. I suppose that's all for now. I think I will stay in tonight and watch Almodovar's Bad Education, which I rented earlier this week.
